This October, we are thrilled to be partnered with Chicago Run, a local charity with deep roots in our community.
Founded in late 2007, Chicago Run implements and supports innovative, engaging, and sustainable youth running and physical fitness programs in low-income communities across Chicago. In partnership with the Chicago Public Schools, Chicago Run launched its programs in Spring 2008 in an effort to instill the daily habit of running as a means to combat the epidemic of childhood obesity and uplift the spirits of schoolchildren. 84% of Chicago Run participants come from low-income households and experience limited options for physical fitness, nutrition, and sports-based youth development programs. With a vision to enhance the health and well-being of every child in Chicago through running, Chicago Run served over 17,000 students in 42 Chicago Public Schools in 28 diverse neighborhoods in Chicago during the 2015-2016 school year alone.
